These little cactus flowers almost seem to be an oily yellow. A fascinating sight.

The petals of the cactus flower look translucent, worthy of flowers that get a lot of sun. The spines are very formidable protecting them, but not from the flying insects.

Those Barrel Cactus blooms are gorgeous! I had seen these in the Desert Botanical Garden in Arizona and you captured them beautifully! I love how the blooms look like straw flowers.
